MacCormaic Vinters — or simply MacCormaics, as many of our partners know us — has been a trusted name in the wine and spirits industry for more than 35 years. Founded by Breandan MacCormaic, a seasoned industry expert with a deep passion for French wine, the business grew from modest beginnings into a leading supplier to Ireland’s largest retailers and hospitality groups. Breandan’s fluency in French and his instinct for quality enabled him to source distinctive regional wines that offered character, authenticity, and exceptional value beyond the mainstream brands.
In 2013, the company entered an exciting new chapter when Paul Maguire and Philip O’Shea acquired MacCormaics, bringing together decades of experience, entrepreneurial drive, and a shared commitment to excellence.
Meet the Team
Paul Maguire
Paul has spent over 30 years in the drinks industry, working with global leaders such as Diageo in Asia and later serving as Director of Marketing at Edward Dillon. In 2009, he founded his own wine and spirits business, which later merged with MacCormaics, strengthening our portfolio and expanding our reach.
Philip O'Shea
Philip, a qualified solicitor with a lifelong passion for wine, entered the industry through Cassidy Wines before establishing Charleston Wine — a specialist supplier to Dublin’s restaurant sector. His business also merged with MacCormaics, bringing a deep understanding of the on‑trade market and a strong network of long‑standing relationships.
